Hazel is the one who notices everything — the first to hear a truck on the county road, the last to give up on a bird that sailed. In the blind she is quiet, which is rarer than it should be in a field Lab. She's soft with puppies and soft with people, and she needs a handler who doesn't raise his voice; Matt learned that the hard way during her Senior year. Five seasons on Bitterroot ducks and Eastern Montana pheasants. Her DM carrier status is on every page we publish: she is only ever bred to DM-clear males, so no puppy of hers can be affected.
