Eight puppies, twenty months on
Hazel's first litter, by our own Tucker: four males and four females in all three colors. We kept Juniper. The litter is too young for OFA finals — those start in February 2027 — so what follows are preliminary results at 12 months, which predict the finals well but are not the finals.
One thing to disclose: Bruno, a chocolate male, had a small umbilical hernia we found at his week-8 exam and told his family about before they took him. It was closed when he was neutered at 14 months. Hernias like his are usually not inherited in a simple way, and our contract doesn't cover them, but we paid the extra surgery cost because we'd rather lose $300 than wonder.
