CH Brightwater Hazel of Ashgrove SC ROM “Hazel”

Hazel was the beginning. Ellen bought her from the late Joan Pell of Brightwater in 2008 on the condition that she be shown, coursed and, only if she earned it, bred. She did all three. Two litters, in 2011 and 2014, and every Ashgrove dog since goes back to her. She was black and white, a little small, and the bravest dog we have owned. She died at home on November 21, 2022, at fourteen years and nine months, of kidney failure that had been managed for a year. Her heart, which is what we worried about in her generation, never gave her a day’s trouble.
