Wren × Larkspur Sundial, born March 2, 2022
Wren’s first litter, by chilled semen from GCH FC Larkspur Sundial in Massachusetts: two males and four females. Clover stayed. Four are champions or grand champions; all four echoed so far are normal.
At the seven-week BAER, Moonrise (Monty) had no response in his left ear. Unilateral deafness is rare in whippets but does occur, and BAER is the only way to find it in a puppy. We told the family who had been matched to him before go-home day, offered another puppy or a refund, and they chose Monty; we reduced his price by $1,000 and registered him on a limited registration with a no-breeding clause. Neither Wren nor Sundial has produced it since in another litter, and every Ashgrove puppy is BAER-tested before it leaves.
