Questions

Questions we are asked most

How much is a puppy?

€1,800, the same for every puppy. The price is in the contract you see before paying anything.

When do you take a deposit, and is it refundable?

€300, only after you have visited and we have both said yes, credited to the price. Refunded in full if we can't offer you a suitable puppy or you change your mind before matching day.

How long is the wait?

Four approved families are on the list for spring 2027 and we expect five to seven puppies. If you join now, plan on 2027 at the earliest, possibly 2028.

Can we pick our puppy?

We match puppies to families at seven weeks, after the eye screen and a temperament assessment, taking your preferences into account. We explain every match.

When can we visit?

Any time by appointment to meet the adults. From week 5 to meet a litter, one family at a time. Everyone who takes a puppy has visited at least once.

Do you ship puppies or deliver?

No, never. You collect from our house, where you met the mother.

Are the puppies registered?

Yes, with the Irish Kennel Club. You get the registration certificate, signed transfer and a five-generation pedigree on go-home day.

What health tests do the parents have?

BVA hip and elbow scores, an eye exam every year, and DNA tests for CEA, HSF4, MDR1, prcd-PRA, DM, CD, NCL6, merle and natural bobtail. All results are on each dog's page.

What does the health guarantee cover?

26 months from birth, against hip and elbow dysplasia, the eye conditions we test for and MDR1-affected status. Half the price back or a later puppy; you keep your dog.

What if we can't keep the dog?

We take back any dog we bred, for life, for any reason.

When should we neuter?

If you want to, not before 12 months for a bitch (after her first season is fine) and 12–18 months for a dog, so the growth plates close first. Talk to your vet; we're happy to talk to them too.

What do they eat?

A mid-priced puppy kibble four times a day at 8 weeks, three times from 12 weeks, twice from six months. You get the diet sheet and 2 kg to start. Change food slowly if you change at all.

Are your dogs good with children?

Ours live with visiting nieces and nephews and are gentle. Aussies may herd small children, though, and need teaching not to. We place with families with under-fives only when we're sure it will work.

Do you have a merle available?

We don't take colour orders and colour doesn't change the price. Ask about the litter; we will tell you what's in it.
