The Bird litter, 2024

Hazel's second and last litter: eight puppies, four dogs and four bitches. We kept Wren. The others live within two hours of us, apart from Swift, who is in Yorkshire.

Not everything came back as we hoped, and we publish it. Kestrel's hips scored 9:12 (total 21), well above the breed median of 11. He is a neutered pet, moves well, and has no symptoms. His family keep him lean and he swims every week. Linnet's left elbow was graded 1, which is mild. She was never lame. Her family manage it with weight control and hydrotherapy, and we paid for her first course. Neither was ever going to be bred from. Both results are part of why Hazel won't have another litter with Jasper.

Six of the eight have hip and elbow scores so far. We will add the last two when they are in.
