Litters

Eight litters since 2013

We have one litter a year at most, and some years none. Each litter is planned around the bitch: she has to be at least two, have all her health results, be fit and well, and have had at least a year off since her last litter. No bitch of ours has had more than three litters.

Our puppies are named in a theme while they are with us, which is why there is a Wildflower, a Bird and a Hedgerow litter. Families choose the registered names, which all start with our affix, Meadowbrook.

Every Meadowbrook litter, and how the puppies turned out

47 puppies in seven litters from 2013 to 2024. Hip totals are BVA/RKC (0–106, lower is better; breed median 11). Most owners have their dog scored at our expense, but not all, and we don't chase people who say no.

Deaths we know of

We publish how and when our dogs die because it is the only honest way to talk about longevity in this breed.

Cancer is the main cause of death in Golden Retrievers, and our dogs are no exception. Families tell us when they lose a dog. If we have missed one, we would like to know.
