Lasair × Rua, planned for spring 2027

Why Lasair and Rua

Lasair is the most biddable dog we have bred and the fastest on an agility course; Rua is the soundest-moving dog we own and the calmest in the house. His hip score (7) is lower than hers (11), his MDR1 is clear where hers is carrier, and the two share no ancestor in five generations. We are hoping for sport dogs with good heads and good joints.

Nothing is fixed. Lasair must have a clear eye exam in March 2027 and be three before she is mated, and her season decides the date. If any of that changes, this page will say so first.

There are four approved families on the list for this litter. We expect five to seven puppies. Joining the list is free and we take no deposit until puppies are born and you have visited.

Expected colours: Red merle and red tri only (both parents b/b); no blue merles, no blacks
Tails: Full tails only (both parents N/N for natural bobtail)
Merle: Merle × non-merle (M/m × m/m): about half merle, no double merles possible
MDR1: Puppies clear or carriers, none affected; every puppy tested
Expected adults: Bitches 47–51 cm, 17–21 kg; dogs 51–56 cm, 22–27 kg
Best suited to: Agility and obedience homes, and active families with dog-sport plans

First vaccination (Nobivac DHPPi + L4) and a full vet health check at 8 weeks, signed off by our vet in Aughrim
Microchip, registered to you on the Fido database on go-home day (chipped at 6 weeks)
Wormed with fenbendazole at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks; dates and doses in the record
EU pet passport
IKC registration certificate and signed transfer, endorsements explained in writing
Five-generation pedigree
Litter eye screen certificate (BVA/RKC/ISDS, at 7 weeks)
The puppy's own MDR1 and DM DNA results from Laboklin
Copies of both parents' hip, elbow, eye and DNA certificates
The Fernhill puppy contract, signed by both of us
Diet sheet and 2 kg of the food they are on, a blanket that smells of the litter, a toy, a collar and lead
An MDR1 drug card for your vet and a care folder from birth to two years

Price

We expect €1,800, the same as now, confirmed in writing the day the litter is born. No deposit is taken for a litter that doesn't exist yet; joining the list is free.
